|Duties:||Summary of the duties of this position:|
Facilitates the workflow of the clinical support staff to ensure efficient and effective execution of daily tasks.
Works with clinical educator to orientate and train new clinical support staff.
Collaborates with supervisor and others appropriately when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable patient situations and/or behaviors to foster a positive and professional work environment
Serves as a communication resource in the delivery of patient care being responsive, accessible and visible. Asks appropriate questions and assists clinical support staff with problem resolution.
Responsible for vaccine ordering.
Supports supervisor with tasks such as staff scheduling, incident investigation, etc.
Assists supervisor in completion of clinical and administrative reports for all programs and ensures timely submission
Reviews and identifies patient medical information to determine wellness needs to enhance the provider’s ability to administer comprehensive care in accordance with the guidelines for the planned patient care initiative.
Accurately obtains and legibly records all vital information, medication renewal, allergies and chief complaint, etc., while rooming patient. Verifies identity of patient through “active” technique.
Prepares exam room and patient for specific visit type, ensuring that the provider is able to conduct the visit immediately upon entry to the room.
Ability to perform all orders/instructions as recorded and requested by the provider, in a timely manner. Clearly documents all aspects of patient care in the appropriate chart, log, list and record per the Management of Health Records Policy to include accurate medical terminology.
Accurately prepares and administers medications, insulin and immunizations with peer-checking technique as per standing and/or provider order.
Documents immunizations accurately at all points of record keeping and performs registry maintenance.
Collects, labels and documents samples for laboratory testing following proper laboratory protocol and procedure.
Performs nurse visits in compliance with FFH defined policy.
Collaborates with other Team members for clinical direction and assistance in accordance with FFH established procedures and develops and maintains a collaborative working relationship within the Family First Health organization
Maintains proper medical supply inventory in exam rooms, lab and clinical area.
Performs opening and closing Lab procedures.
Provides leadership to staff by assisting with workload, patient care and supporting departmental changes.
Provides educational material to patient to ensure patient understanding of the illness and or treatment plan.
Demonstrates proper handling, storage and maintenance of immunizations.
Assist with vaccine inventory reconciliation
Participates in and supports the orientation and training of new clinical support staff and serves as a mentor for Level I, Level II and Level III clinical support staff, as directed.
Attends and actively participates in organizational committees and meetings as required (ie. lunch & learn, in-service, etc.) and actively pursues educational opportunities.
Maintains professional knowledge by affiliating with professional and technical organizations, and by participating in applicable continuing education programs, conferences, seminars and workshops.
Responsible for immunization cold chain to include handling of vaccinations.
|Qualifications:||Minimum qualifications include Certification as a Medical Assistant or LPN license with at least one year of experience.|
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
